White admits feeling 'jittery' on set of Springsteen biopic
'The Bear' actor says singer gave him space to settle into role

Jeremy Allen White has admitted that portraying Bruce Springsteen in the biopic 'Deliver Me From Nowhere' initially left him uneasy, prompting him to ask the rock legend for "a little bit of space" during filming.
In a conversation with Austin Butler for 'Interview Magazine', the Emmy-winning star of 'The Bear' said that his first week on set was "particularly jittery" because Springsteen was present. "I talked to him at the end of the week," White recalled. "I was like, 'If I could just have a little bit of space to try and find my footing.'"
According to White, Springsteen was entirely supportive. "He was like, 'I totally understand. Not a problem,'" he said, adding that Springsteen stepped away for two days before returning to ask how the "space" worked out.
White described the musician's presence as both daunting and inspiring, saying Springsteen continued to offer encouragement throughout the production. "He'd text me every night with notes and reassurance," the actor revealed. "It really helped me sleep at night."
'Deliver Me From Nowhere', directed by Scott Cooper was released on Friday, traces the creation of Springsteen's 1982 album 'Nebraska'. The film explores the emotional and creative intensity behind the record, with early industry buzz already praising White's portrayal as one of his most transformative performances yet.
