ATC issues notices to DG Excise
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Peshawar has issued notices to the Director General of Excise and the In-charge of the Excise Intelligence Bureau for failing to comply with court orders in a narcotics case.
According to the court's written order, both officials have been directed to submit their responses within five days. The court warned that if they fail to do so, proceedings will be initiated under Section 174 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), which could result in punishment.
The order stated that Sub-Inspector Farooq Khan, posted at the Excise Intelligence Bureau Mardan, is a prosecution witness in the narcotics case but has repeatedly failed to appear before the court or record his statement, despite multiple notices. The court noted that other witnesses have already recorded their statements.
