Jeremy Allen White gets candid about his nervous first week around Bruce Springsteen
Jeremy Allen White opens up about asking Bruce Springsteen for “space” while portraying him in Deliver Me From Nowhere

Jeremy Allen White is opening up about the pressure of portraying Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere.
The Emmy-winning star of The Bear revealed that he asked Springsteen himself for “a little bit of space” while filming the project, directed by Scott Cooper and set for release on October 24, 2025.
In a recent Interview Magazine discussion with Austin Butler, White shared that stepping into the shoes of “The Boss” came with immense responsibility. During the first week of production, Springsteen was present on set — a fact that initially made White uneasy. “That first week was particularly jittery for me,” he said. “Bruce was around, and I talked to him at the end of the week. I was like, ‘If I could just have a little bit of space to try and find my footing.’”
According to White, Springsteen was understanding and supportive, giving him time to adjust to the role. “He was like, ‘I totally understand. Not a problem,’” the actor recalled. “He was gone for two days, and then he came back and said, ‘How was that space?’”
Despite the initial nerves, White later praised Springsteen for his encouragement throughout filming. The singer reportedly sent him nightly texts offering feedback and reassurance, which White said “helped him sleep at night.”
Deliver Me From Nowhere follows the creation of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska, exploring the emotional and artistic depths of the legendary musician. With early praise from peers like Austin Butler, Jeremy Allen White’s portrayal of Springsteen is already generating major awards buzz.
