Former Battlefield 6 developer criticises EA for excluding Ridgeline team from game credits
Ex-Battlefield 6 director Marcus Lehto says EA left him and several Ridgeline Games developers out of the credits

Former Battlefield 6 developer Marcus Lehto has criticised Electronic Arts (EA) for omitting him and several members of his team from the game’s official credits.
Lehto, who led the now-closed Ridgeline Games studio, said the exclusion disregards the work of developers who helped lay the foundation for the campaign.
Lehto shared his frustration in a LinkedIn post on October 20, stating that many Ridgeline Games staff were “not properly credited” in Battlefield 6. Although some names appeared in the Special Thanks section, several core team members — including Lehto himself — were not mentioned at all.
“These talented developers worked tirelessly for 1 to 2.5 years, building the foundation of the game,” Lehto wrote. He added that Ridgeline was responsible for developing the “high-level story,” establishing the main characters, and designing the overall mission structure.
The team had also contributed to the game’s “more open sandbox style” missions, portions of which were later removed after the studio’s closure.
Ridgeline Games was founded in 2022 under EA’s direction to lead the campaign component of Battlefield 6. The studio, headed by Lehto — a 15-year Bungie veteran known for his work on the Halo franchise — was shut down in early 2024 after Lehto’s departure, as EA consolidated resources to complete the game.
Lehto also shared a list of 36 Ridgeline employees who contributed to Battlefield 6, noting that only eight were acknowledged in the final credits. EA has not issued a public response regarding the omissions.
“Game development is a team effort, and every contributor deserves fair acknowledgment,” Lehto concluded. Fans and developers have since voiced support for his statement, urging EA to update the game’s credits to reflect the full list of contributors.
