Team Ninja, Xbox, and Koei Tecmo marked the launch of Ninja Gaiden 4 with a record-breaking airborne event that combined gaming, technology, and live performance. The celebration set a new Guinness World Record for the largest video game display flown by helicopter.

The event took place above the Miami skyline, where two helicopters took flight. One carried a 26-foot-wide video screen while the other transported Team Ninja’s Community Manager, Emmanuel “Master” Rodriguez, who played Ninja Gaiden 4 live in the air. Musician Swae Lee joined Rodriguez onboard, debuting an exclusive track titled Flammable during the performance.

Creative Director Tom Lee explained that the stunt was inspired by the game’s narrative setting, where characters battle among towering skyscrapers after the lower city has been submerged. The vertical skyline in Ninja Gaiden 4 mirrors the event’s high-altitude display, symbolising the game’s theme of elevation and mastery.

Using advanced sports broadcasting technology, gameplay was streamed in real-time from Rodriguez’s helicopter to the massive aerial screen built by Heli-D, a company specialising in large-scale airborne media. The precise coordination required between the helicopters made the stunt both technically demanding and visually striking.

Lee described the airborne experience as “a celebration of everything Ninja Gaiden 4 represents — precision, discipline, and innovation.” The event highlighted the franchise’s ongoing commitment to pushing creative and technical boundaries.

Ninja Gaiden 4 launches globally on October 21 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The title is available on day one with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

The Deluxe Edition includes additional gameplay content, skins, and items, while all pre-orders receive the Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo skin at launch.
