ISLAMABAD:

The government has waived electricity bills for domestic consumers in flood-affected areas for the month of August, while commercial and agricultural consumers have been granted payment deferrals until December, according to sources in the Power Division.

According to officials, all categories of domestic users in flood-hit districts have been granted full exemption. Those who have already paid their August bills will have the amount adjusted in upcoming billing cycles.

For commercial and agricultural users, the August bills have been postponed until December, with payments to be made in six monthly instalments from January to June 2026. "The decision was made to facilitate flood-affected consumers in light of widespread losses caused by the recent floods," the sources said.
