LAHORE:

The Punjab Police Animal Rescue Center (PARC) has launched a large-scale spaying, neutering, and rabies vaccination campaign as part of Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar's "Nigehban Be Zaban" initiative to promote humane animal management and public health.

The drive, inaugurated on October 16, marks a step toward ethical stray animal control in Punjab. Conducted in collaboration with Aspiring Veterinarians NGO, the campaign involves veterinary students and animal welfare volunteers, offering hands-on experience in animal surgery and care.

According to the police spokesperson, the campaign aims to address stray animal overpopulation, prevent rabies, and build public awareness about humane treatment.

"Our goal is to ensure the safety of both humans and animals by controlling unnecessary breeding and eliminating rabies risks," the statement read.
