Yung Miami has publicly accused South African singer Tyla of copying her unreleased track, claiming that the rising star’s upcoming single “Chanel” was inspired by her original song idea.

The City Girls rapper took to X on October 16 to express frustration over what she described as a creative theft.

“This girl really ran off with my song and ion know how to feel about it mind you I played this song for this girl,” Yung Miami tweeted, setting off a wave of fan reactions online. When a user pointed out that Miami had delayed releasing her own version, she sharply replied, “Don’t matter it’s my mf song!!!”

According to Miami, she had a track titled “Take Me to Chanel,” which she once previewed for Tyla. Months later, Tyla shared snippets of a song called “Chanel,” prompting immediate comparisons. Miami’s follow-up post made her stance clear, “Take me to Chanel > put me in Chanel,” insisting the similarity was not coincidental.

Fans quickly joined the debate, sharing side-by-side clips and arguing over whether Tyla’s concept mirrored Miami’s original idea. While some defended Miami’s claim, others suggested the resemblance was coincidental, noting that brand references in music are common.

As the online argument continued, Yung Miami added fuel to the fire with another tweet, “Let’s talk about it!!!!! I played her the song!”

Meanwhile Tyla, who is set to release the single on October 24, has remained silent, offering no public response on social media or through her representatives.
