Timothée Chalamet has officially added a new and unexpected title to his growing list of accolades: White Boy of the Year.
The two-time Oscar nominee was honored at the First Annual Believe That Awards, a parody-style show hosted by Anthony Edwards and Nick Maddox, where “no one is safe.”
Chalamet beat out fellow nominees Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise, MrBeast, and Pat McAfee for the tongue-in-cheek award. Currently filming Dune: Part Three in Budapest, the actor accepted the award via video message, joking about fame, self-perception, and his ongoing pursuit of greatness.
In a Instagram Story, Chalamet quoted rapper Gucci Mane, writing, “You can get lost in the sauce, but without sauce, you are lost.” He added, “I promise to cherish this award, and to do good inspiring generations of white boys to come to be entirely delusional about their identity and place within the world.”
The actor also poked fun at Edwards for mistakenly calling Liam Neeson “Leon Nelson” during their conversation, sharing a meme that quickly spread across social media. Fans applauded Chalamet’s humor and humility, praising how he handled the joke award with his signature self-awareness.
Chalamet’s win comes as anticipation builds for his next film, Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, The Creator, and Odessa A’zion. The film, described by Chalamet as “maybe the project I’m most proud of,” will be released in U.S. theaters on Christmas Day through A24.
