C.J. Gardner-Johnson dropped again after mocking Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift
C.J. Gardner-Johnson was cut from another team months after mocking Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance

It seems the “Tayvoodoo” is back at work. NFL player C.J. Gardner-Johnson, known for mocking Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift after the Super Bowl, has been released from yet another team this season.
Gardner-Johnson first made headlines earlier this year when, as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, he went viral for a controversial post ridiculing Kelce over his relationship with Swift. The comment sparked outrage among Swifties and fueled an online feud between the football star and the pop icon’s fanbase.
Since then, things haven’t gone smoothly for the 27-year-old athlete. After being traded to the Houston Texans during the offseason, he lasted just three games before being cut. Shortly after, he was picked up by the Baltimore Ravens — but his time there ended just as quickly.
On Tuesday, the Ravens officially released Gardner-Johnson without him having played a single game. The decision came soon after the team traded for safety Alohi Gilman from the Los Angeles Chargers. According to the player’s agent, Kevin Conner, via ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the split was “an amicable mutual decision.” Conner explained, “After the Ravens traded for a safety, we were looking for a clearer path to play.”
Despite the professional setback, Gardner-Johnson is reportedly hoping another team will give him a shot before the season ends. But for fans of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, the timing feels like poetic justice — or as many are calling it, “Tayvoodoo.”
Whether coincidence or karma, this marks the second time this year that Gardner-Johnson has been dropped, reigniting the internet’s favorite football-meets-pop-culture curse.
