MoistCr1TiKaL reveals earning $35 million on YouTube before turning off monetisation

MoistCr1TiKaL shared that he earned $35 million on YouTube before disabling monetisation on his channels

YouTuber and streamer Charles ‘MoistCr1TiKaL’ White Jr has revealed he earned $35 million from YouTube before deciding to disable monetisation on both his YouTube and Twitch channels.

White first announced the decision on October 9, explaining he wanted to stop receiving money from features such as super chats, memberships, and Twitch subscriptions.

He said his motivation was to prevent fans from “wasting” their money on him and instead encouraged them to donate to charity if they wanted to contribute financially.

A week later, the creator shared full details of his earnings, confirming he had made a combined $41.3 million from YouTube and Twitch since starting in 2007.

On Twitch, he revealed earning $55,500 between 2017 and 2019 before becoming a full-time streamer. Between 2019 and 2021, his income rose to $1.28 million, and from 2021 to 2024, he earned an additional $4.15 million after signing a contract requiring three minutes of ads per hour. These totals did not include sponsorships or brand partnerships.

White’s YouTube earnings were significantly higher, totalling $35.8 million. Of that, $37.7 million came from ad revenue, while memberships generated around $560,000 and Super Chats $508,000. Ads on YouTube Shorts made a comparatively small $2,500.

Reflecting on his financial success, he said: “I never imagined that amount of money was possible to earn without being born rich. I got incredibly lucky. I’m not special.”

White added that he stopped monetisation because it felt wrong to accept more money given his past earnings. He also suggested many creators downplay their wealth to maintain relatability, saying his transparency might help viewers better understand how profitable online content creation can be.
