Cricket: Tuskers go to court after IPL axe

The BCCI claims that the Tuskers have defaulted on an INR 1.6 billion annual payment.

NEW DELHI:
Kochi Tuskers Kerala owners initiated legal proceedings over a dispute with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the latter announced termination of the team’s contract following a breach that was deemed ‘irremediable’. The BCCI claims that the Tuskers have defaulted on an INR 1.6 billion annual payment which was required as bank guarantee, but Mukesh Patel has flatly refused the allegations.
