Twitch streamer Asmongold has criticised Pokimane for how she handled a recent controversy involving her Sweet N Sour podcast team, accusing her of “lacking empathy” after her staff faced backlash online.

On October 13, the Sweet N Sour podcast, hosted by Pokimane and LillyPichu, announced that it would not be releasing a planned episode featuring fellow streamer Hasan.

The team cited the ongoing controversy surrounding Hasan, who has been accused of using a shock collar on his dog—an allegation he denies.

“We’ve been watching the recent drama unfold concerning our guest, and it’s been getting intense. We had a serious talk as a crew, and we all agreed that it did not feel right uploading tomorrow’s episode at this moment in time,” the podcast team said in a statement.

However, Pokimane later claimed she had not approved the statement, saying the decision was made by her staff without her input. “Staff refused to upload it out of fear it’d cause drama,” she explained, adding that the podcast would go on hiatus for restructuring.

Asmongold reacted to the situation during a livestream, criticising Pokimane’s public comments. “She should understand that while she has a big fan base and people defend her, her staff don’t have that,” he said, suggesting that her remarks left her team vulnerable to online harassment.

He added that Pokimane should have taken responsibility to shield her staff, saying, “You have to do what is in their best interest because they’ve put their faith in you to also serve them.”

Pokimane has not yet responded to Asmongold’s criticism. It remains unclear if the cancelled Hasan episode will eventually be released following the podcast’s hiatus.
