HYDERABAD:

Across Sindh, villagers paid tribute to Pakistan Army soldiers who embraced martyrdom defending the nation's borders along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier. From Hala to Shaheed Benazirabad and Badin, thousands gathered to receive the fallen with rose petals, patriotic chants, and prayers. Each martyr was laid to rest with full military honours, as citizens, officers, and local leaders paid homage to their courage and sacrifice in service of the homeland.

During an ongoing clash with terrorists in North Waziristan, 27-year-old Muhammad Hanif Chohan embraced martyrdom fighting valiantly. The soldier hailed from the village of Muhammad Saleh Chohan Khando near Hala. His body was transported to his native village, where a number of locals, citizens, and relatives showered his coffin with rose petals as the air filled with chants of "Pakistan Army Zindabad."

His funeral prayer was attended by army officers as well as SSP Matiari, Rao Arif, PML-N leader Naseer Memon, and residents of the area. Locals expressed solidarity with the martyr's family, who include his widow, two-year-old son, and parents.

Separately, the body of Ghulam Abbas, who was also martyred defending the nation's borders, was brought to his native village, Sath Mile in Shaheed Benazirabad. As the ambulance carrying his coffin, draped in the national flag, arrived, villagers showered it with rose petals and welcomed the martyr with chants of "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great).

Silachi was then laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard with full military honours, in a funeral attended by PPP District President Muhammad Saleem Zardari, senior officials, and hundreds of citizens who gathered to pay tribute to the fallen soldier.

Meanwhile, martyr Ghulam Mahboob Soomro was laid to rest in his ancestral village of Abu Sheikha, Badin. Pakistan Army personnel, along with IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, laid wreaths on his coffin, and attended the funeral prayers alongside SSP Badin Qamar Raza Jiskani, political and social leaders, citizens, journalists, and relatives including SHO Badin Ejaz Ahmed Soomro.

SSP Jiskani remarked, "It is because of heroes like Soomro that we sleep peacefully at night. Martyrs are the true assets of our nation - may God grant us the strength to follow in their footsteps."
