Pedestrian woman dies, son injured in accident

A woman was killed while her five-year-old son was injured in a traffic accident in Shahdara.

According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, the woman and her son were crossing a road when they were hit by a speeding motorcycle.

Both suffered injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced the woman dead, while the child was admitted for treatment.

Police said the deceased had not been identified till the evening.

Her body was shifted to a morgue and efforts were under way to trace and contact her family.

Officials said they were reviewing CCTV footage to identify the motorcyclist 8nvolved in the accident.

Another road accident left a motorcyclist dead at Hamdard Chowk in the Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate.

A spokesperson for Edhi Foundatio said the speeding motorcycle rammed into a truck, leaving the rider dead on the spot.
