Food prices hit record high

The long-standing tradition of vegetable sellers offering free coriander and green chilies with purchases has ended after a hundred years.

In the open market, tomatoes are being sold at Rs600 per kg, peas at Rs400 per kg, and coriander - once complimentary - now costs Rs80 to Rs100 per bunch.
