The cast of The Hunting Wives is embracing the spotlight after a surprise parody of their Netflix hit appeared on Saturday Night Live. Stars Malin Åkerman, Katie Lowes, Brittany Snow, and Jaime Ray Newman shared their excitement across social media following the sketch’s debut on NBC.

Malin Åkerman, who plays the glamorous and mysterious Margo Banks in the series, posted the spoof to Instagram, calling it “the best thing I’ve ever seen!!!” and jokingly hinting at a potential Season 2 premiere.

Amy Poehler took on the role of Margo in the SNL skit, dramatically introduced by flashing Chloe Fineman’s character, who played Sophie — originally portrayed by Brittany Snow. The sketch poked fun at the show’s over-the-top moments, including the memorable wigs worn by Åkerman’s character, with Poehler adjusting hers as the voiceover quipped, “the wigs are doing their best.”

Jaime Ray Newman, who stars as Callie in the series, also expressed her excitement on Instagram Stories, writing, “SNL?!?!? Mind officially BLOWN,” tagging both the show and the Hunting Wives account.

Katie Lowes, who plays Jill, shared a behind-the-scenes video of herself with Åkerman and Newman watching the SNL sketch backstage at the 35th Environmental Media Association Awards in Studio City. “HUNTING WIVES ON @nbcsnl!! We were DYING,” she captioned the post. Snow later replied, quoting one of the sketch’s standout lines: “It’s just us and the beans, baby! 😂”

May Cobb, author of the novel that inspired the series, also shared the parody on Instagram alongside a recap from Deadline.

The skit concluded with a surprise cameo from Aubrey Plaza, who joined the fictional wives’ group as a new arrival from California. Tensions humorously escalated when her character revealed she was a lesbian, prompting the women to reach for their rifles — in true Hunting Wives fashion.

The parody added a comedic twist to the thriller series, and the enthusiastic reactions from the cast suggest they’re all in on the joke.
