A new retailer listing has seemingly confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be coming to Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 console, despite no official announcement from Ubisoft.

The listing appeared briefly on French retailer Auchan’s website before being removed, suggesting the release is imminent.

If accurate, the open-world stealth adventure will become the second major Ubisoft title to arrive on the Switch 2 following Star Wars Outlaws, which launched for the system in September.

Like that release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will reportedly be distributed via a “game key card” rather than a full physical cartridge, likely due to the game’s large file size, which exceeds 100GB on other platforms.

While the listing did not provide a release date or confirmed pricing, it is expected to launch at around $70 and could arrive before the end of 2025.

Fans have already begun speculating on whether the Switch 2 port will retain the same technical features as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, known for their high visual fidelity and advanced lighting effects.

Ubisoft managed to include ray tracing and other current-generation features in Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2, raising expectations for a similarly optimised experience with Shadows.

Meanwhile, several other high-profile third-party releases for the Switch 2 have yet to be dated. Final Fantasy VII Remake is slated for early 2026, Elden Ring has no release date, and Borderlands 4 was recently delayed indefinitely.

If the leak proves accurate, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will mark another major addition to Nintendo’s expanding next-gen library.
