Megan Fox is officially back in horror. The actor has joined Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 as the voice of Toy Chica, Universal and Blumhouse confirmed during Jason Blum’s BlumFest panel at New York Comic-Con on 10 October 2025. The highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 box office hit is set to premiere in cinemas on 5 December 2025.

Fox’s casting instantly went viral online, with fans calling the move a perfect fit for her signature mix of charm and danger. The announcement also confirmed that MatPat will voice Toy Bonnie, while Kellen Goff will bring Toy Freddy to life. Josh Hutcherson will reprise his role from the first film, alongside Matthew Lillard, Elizabeth Lail and Piper Rubio. Director Emma Tammi is returning to helm the sequel.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise is based on the wildly popular video game series of the same name, which follows a night security guard haunted by killer animatronic mascots inside the eerie Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The original film, released in October 2023, was a massive success, earning $297 million globally and becoming Blumhouse’s highest-grossing film ever, all while streaming on Peacock.

According to Universal, the sequel’s tagline teases a darker tone: ‘Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there will be no second chances.’ Fans have been quick to speculate that Toy Chica and her mechanical counterparts will be even more sinister this time around, with some Reddit users joking that Fox’s Toy Chica might ‘seduce before she strikes’.

This marks another bold move for Fox, who recently starred in Subservience with Michele Morrone and appeared in Amazon’s comedy series Overcompensating. Known for her cult-favourite horror performance in Jennifer’s Body, many online fans see this casting as a full-circle return to her darker, genre roots.

The film’s buzz is already heating up social media, where #ToyChica and #MeganFoxFNAF2 began trending shortly after the reveal. With a December release date and an all-star lineup, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 looks poised to deliver another killer holiday box office run.
