‘Ocean’s 14’ set to film in 2026 as George Clooney reunites with Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts
George Clooney has confirmed that Ocean’s 14 is officially moving forward, with Warner Bros. approving the budget for the long-rumoured sequel. In a new interview, Clooney revealed that filming could begin in about nine or ten months, placing production sometime in mid-2026.
“We just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we’re trying to set up,” Clooney told E! News. “It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us … probably start in about nine or ten months, shooting.”
The announcement marks the first real confirmation that a new Ocean’s film is on the horizon after years of speculation. The heist franchise kicked off with Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s Eleven in 2001, starring Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts and Don Cheadle. It became a global hit, grossing more than $450 million and spawning two sequels, Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007).
Clooney hinted that his original co-stars are on board for the reunion. “Yeah, Brad, Matt and Don and Julia. I had dinner last night with Julia. They’re all still really dear friends. And so, the chance to work together would be fun.”
The franchise last returned in 2018 with Ocean’s 8, a spin-off led by Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and Awkwafina. That film grossed nearly $300 million at the global box office, proving there’s still demand for the slick, stylish capers.
However, some fans remain sceptical. Online chatter has pointed to Brad Pitt’s apparent lack of enthusiasm for another instalment when asked earlier this year. Others have noted that the box office take for each film in the trilogy trended downward after Ocean’s Eleven, raising questions about whether nostalgia and a starry reunion will be enough to revive the franchise.
For now, Clooney seems confident. With Warner Bros. backing and the cast reportedly still in close contact, Ocean’s 14 looks set to bring Danny Ocean’s crew back together nearly two decades after their last outing.
