Nicole Kidman appeared to reference her separation from Keith Urban weeks before the news became public. In a Vogue interview for its November 2025 issue, conducted in late August, the Oscar-winning actress reflected on unexpected life changes while discussing her 50s.

“How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn’t going in that direction?” Kidman told Vogue.

A source later confirmed on September 29 that Kidman and Urban, who married in 2006, had separated earlier in the summer after 19 years of marriage. The following day, Kidman formally filed for divorce in Nashville, citing irreconcilable differences.

The filing listed the separation date as the time of submission, and the actress requested to be the primary residential parent of their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

During the Vogue interview, Kidman described spending the summer in Europe while filming Practical Magic 2 in London. “Going to Hyde Park and concerts, Glastonbury and Salisbury — so much summer fun — Evita, seeing theatre, walking Hampstead Heath, swimming there,” she said.

“Went to Portugal, went to Greece, had my nieces and nephews around, lots of family: my sister, my best friend since I was 4, and her three children. A very tight group.”

Sources told People that the Babygirl star had been “stressed because she knew the separation would eventually become public” but is now focusing on her daughters and upcoming work commitments. Another source said Kidman “has had a good attitude about everything and life goes on.”

Representatives for both Kidman and Urban have not yet commented publicly on the separation.
