Pakistan to host first Maritime Conference

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has announced plans to hold the Pakistan Maritime Investment Conference 2025 to showcase a wide range of investment opportunities in the maritime sector.

According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, the minister chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the event. He said the conference will present both micro and macro investment prospects to domestic and international investors across all ports and affiliated departments. The initiative aims to attract sustainable investments and strengthen Pakistan's blue economy and maritime infrastructure.

The meeting finalised key decisions regarding the date, venue, and thematic focus of the first-ever maritime investment conference. Officials agreed that the event would serve as a strategic platform to position Pakistan as a regional hub for maritime investment and innovation.

Participants also discussed potential investment areas including port development, fisheries, marine transport, shipbuilding, and coastal tourism. These sectors are expected to align with national goals for economic diversification and sustainable development.

A key focus of the session was launching a comprehensive media and branding campaign to promote the event and ensure participation from investors, financial institutions, and development partners.
