Gene Simmons hospitalized after fainting and crashing SUV in Malibu
KISS frontman Gene Simmons was hospitalized Tuesday after fainting behind the wheel and crashing his SUV into a parked car in Malibu.
The frightening incident occurred along the Pacific Coast Highway when Simmons reportedly lost consciousness while driving his Lincoln Navigator.
According to TMZ, Simmons’ vehicle veered across several lanes of traffic before colliding with a parked car. Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and the rock legend was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
Simmons’ wife, Shannon Tweed, told reporters that the 75-year-old musician fainted due to dehydration caused by a recent change in his medication. “Gene hates to drink water,” Shannon shared, explaining that the combination of dehydration and medication likely led to the episode.
After receiving medical care, Simmons was discharged and is now recovering comfortably at home. Sources close to the KISS co-founder say he’s in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.
The accident has sparked concern among fans worldwide, with many expressing relief that the legendary bassist escaped without serious injury. Simmons, known for his energetic stage performances and iconic tongue-out persona, has yet to release an official statement but is reportedly resting and following medical advice.
The Malibu crash serves as a reminder of the importance of proper hydration—especially when adjusting to new medications. Despite the scare, Gene Simmons appears to be on the mend and in good spirits following the health scare.
