Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir presided over the 272nd Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Head Quarters on Wednesday, reaffirming Pakistan Army’s readiness to counter threats across all domains.

The session began with Fateha for martyrs of recent attacks by Indian-sponsored terror groups. The COAS lauded the Armed Forces’ efforts in counter-terrorism operations and flood relief in coordination with civil authorities.

The forum reviewed ongoing counter-terrorism operations and warned against the nexus of terrorism and crime with political patronage, which undermines state security. Participants also expressed concern over provocative statements on "new normal" by Indian leaders, vowing any aggression would be met with a “swift and decisive response".

In his statement, he commemorated the 11 Pakistan Army personnel, including Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Arif and Major Tayyab Rahat, who were martyred during a high-intensity intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Orakzai District, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, late Tuesday night.

The operation targeted terrorists of the India-backed Fitna al-Khwarij group and involved an intense exchange of fire that neutralized 19 militants. Lieutenant Colonel Arif and Major Rahat, both residents of Rawalpindi, led their troops from the front and embraced martyrdom alongside nine other soldiers.

Commanders reaffirmed continued operations against Indian-backed terror groups, including Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan, and welcomed the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia to enhance joint response capabilities.

The forum reiterated Pakistan’s support for Kashmiri self-determination and the Palestinian cause, endorsing a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.

In his closing remarks, the COAS directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, fitness, and innovation, expressing full confidence in the Army’s ability to counter conventional, hybrid, and asymmetric threats.

Salman | 5 minutes ago | Reply @randy It s a well established fact that India s intelligence agency is sponsoring and financing the TTP terrorists using afghan soil. And no these terrorists India sponsors will never make their way into Pakistan. They never have and they never will. The TTP is destined to disintegrate and collapse from Pakistan army intelligence based operations.
randy | 1 hour ago | Reply India has got nothing to do with TTP or any Islamic group in Pakistan period. TTP wants their way in Pakistan and they will get it by such methods.
