ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was informed on Tuesday that the Establishment Division and the Ministry of Interior have approved the filling of 35 vacant patwari posts in the federal capital, but the Ministry of Finance has yet to grant its approval.

During the hearing, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani expressed hope that the government would fill the vacant positions before the next hearing. The case pertains to the employment of private individuals in patwarkhanas (revenue offices) across Islamabad.

Appearing before the court, State Counsel Abdur Rehman presented reports from the Establishment Division and the Ministry of Interior, confirming that approval had been given to fill the 35 vacant positions.

Justice Kayani remarked that the court expected the Ministry of Finance and the government to expedite the process, observing that delays in basic administrative matters were unacceptable.

Expressing displeasure over private individuals allegedly working in government offices, the judge said, "It seems that neither the secretaries nor anyone else is capable of handling this matter.
