KARACHI:

Dozens of protests erupted across Karachi on Tuesday in response to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman's call to mark the second anniversary of "Operation Al-Aqsa Storm" and observe a global day of protest against Israel.

Demonstrations spanned major roads, commercial hubs, schools, colleges, and public spaces, with students forming human chains and citizens from all walks of life-including teachers, scholars, traders, laborers, and lawyers-joining in. Protesters condemned Israeli aggression, US support for Israel, and the ongoing violence in Gaza, expressing unwavering solidarity with Palestinians and Hamas.

Addressing a protest outside the City Court, JI Karachi Deputy Ameer and Opposition Leader Advocate Saifuddin declared Israel an illegitimate state, asserting it can never be accepted. Saifuddin stated that the Hamas movement will persist until the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the establishment of a unified Palestinian state.

Rejecting the two-state solution, he insisted on a single Palestinian state led by Hamas. He also invoked Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's stance, reaffirming Pakistan's principled position against recognizing Israel and warning that any deviation would be considered treason.

A protest rally was organised at the University of Karachi, under the banner of the Student Alliance, condemning Israeli aggression against the Global Sumud Flotilla.

The rally began at the Arts Lobby and proceeded to Pharmacy Chowk, with participation from a crowd of students belonging to various student organisations, as well as teachers and university staff.
