Students take out rallies in solidarity with Gaza, condemn Israeli aggression

Announce every child and young person in Pakistan stand with the oppressed people of Palestine

Protests in solidarity with Palestine were held across Karachi on Tuesday, as students from both the University of Karachi and local schools took to the streets to condemn Israeli aggression and offer support for the people of Gaza.

At the University of Karachi, a rally was organized under the banner of the Students’ Alliance to protest against the Israeli army’s attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza. The rally began from the Arts Lobby and concluded at Pharmacy Chowk, drawing a large crowd of students from various organizations, along with teachers and university staff.

Students carried Palestinian flags, banners and placards inscribed with slogans denouncing Israeli atrocities and declaring solidarity with Palestine. The campus echoed with chants such of “Long live Palestine” and “Down with Israel,” filling the air with a spirit of unity and resistance.

The president of Islami Jamiat Talaba Karachi, Abish Siddiqui, addressed the gathering, calling Israel’s actions “a stain on the conscience of humanity.” He condemned the attack on the flotilla as a clear violation of international law and an act of extreme brutality. Siddiqui reaffirmed that, “Today’s gathering is a declaration that the youth of Pakistan stand firmly with Palestine and will continue to raise their voices for them at every forum.”

Meanwhile, students from Al-Khalil Model School in Bilal Town, Malir Halt, also held a peaceful protest outside their school at 11am. The young boys and girls waved Palestinian flags, chanted slogans in support of Gaza and paying tribute to the resilience of the Palestinian people.

The children offered a collective prayer for the martyrs and also pyrayed for oppressed people of Palestine and their victory, safety, and freedom. Teachers and school staff guided and encouraged the students, praising their awareness and empathy.

The demonstration, one of many held across Pakistan, aimed to honour Palestinians and send a message that , "Every child and young person in Pakistan stands with the oppressed people of Palestine."

Across the country, schools, lawyers’ groups, and civil society members also organised rallies supporting the Palestinian cause and condemning Israeli aggression.
