Cardi B’s past act of helping a single mother resurfaces online

During an episode of Jay Shetty’s podcast, a story was shared from 2018 about how the Grammy-winning rapper quietly helped a single mother working at a hotel where Cardi was staying.

The woman, unable to find childcare, had brought her young daughter to work, hiding her behind the front desk while she attended guests.

When Cardi noticed the child, the mother braced herself for a complaint. Instead, the rapper smiled and told her she used to do the same thing as a kid when her own mother worked.

Later, before checking out, Cardi returned with a bag full of coloring books, crayons, snacks, and toys for the little girl, and left a generous tip that more than covered the woman’s stress and fear.

“Cardi B spoke life into me as a woman and mother that day,” the woman later shared. “Her empathy made me feel seen and appreciated.”
