President Donald Trump has officially joined TikTok, posting his first video from the Oval Office and declaring that he “saved” the popular social media app.

The post, uploaded to his verified account @realdonaldtrump, quickly gained millions of views within hours, marking Trump’s return to the platform after nearly a year.

In the 30-second clip, Trump directly addresses TikTok’s younger audience. “To all of those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big,” he said, sitting at the Oval Office desk. “And now, you’re looking at me in the Oval Office, and someday one of you is going to be sitting right at this desk, and you’re going to be doing a great job also.”

The video comes just days after Trump signed an executive order approving a tentative deal involving U.S. buyers, including Oracle, to take control of TikTok’s U.S. operations. While the deal has not been finalized, Trump emphasized that his administration’s actions prevented the app from being shut down nationwide.

TikTok briefly went dark across the United States on January 18, sparking widespread panic among users, before the president intervened with executive orders that temporarily allowed the app to operate while negotiations continued.

Neither TikTok nor Oracle has officially commented on the status of the agreement or the long-term future of the app.

Trump’s first TikTok marks a new chapter in his ongoing efforts to engage with younger voters through digital platforms. The post highlights his administration’s stance on keeping TikTok in the U.S. and positions him as the figure who, in his own words, “saved” one of the world’s most influential apps.
