Ike Turner Jr., the son of music legends Tina Turner and Ike Turner, has died at the age of 67, just one day after celebrating his birthday. He passed away on Saturday, October 4, at a hospital in Los Angeles due to kidney failure, according to family member Jacqueline Bullock, who confirmed the news to TMZ.

Bullock revealed that Turner Jr.’s health had been deteriorating in recent years. He had been battling serious heart conditions and had suffered a stroke just a month before his death. In a statement shared with Page Six, Bullock said, “Junior was more than a cousin to me, but rather a brother, as we grew up in the same famed household together.”

Ike Jr. was born from Ike Turner Sr.'s previous relationship with Lorraine Taylor and was later adopted by Tina Turner during her marriage to the late musician. Together, Tina and Ike Sr. raised four children: Ike Jr., Michael (also from Taylor), Ronnie Turner (their only biological child together), and Raymond Craig, Tina’s son from her relationship with Raymond Hill.

Ike Jr. was preceded in death by his brother Craig, who died by suicide in 2018, and Ronnie, who passed away from colon cancer in 2022. Tina Turner died in May 2023 at age 83 after a prolonged illness. Ike Sr. died in 2007 from a cocaine overdose.

Known for his deep involvement in music, Ike Jr. followed in his parents’ footsteps. Bullock remembered his early passion for music, stating that he experimented with multiple instruments and eventually became a skilled sound engineer and musician. He helped manage Bolic Sound Studios, the recording studio founded by his father, and was a Grammy winner for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2007 for his role in producing Risin’ With The Blues by Ike Turner Sr.

His sister-in-law, Afida Turner, who was married to Ronnie, paid tribute to him on Instagram, writing, “U WAS AMAZING BROTHER IN LAW... LOVE U RIP,” alongside photos of them together.

The Turner family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of condolences following his passing.
