Kylie Jenner criticised over brief private jet trip from Budapest amid environmental concerns

Kylie Jenner faced backlash after flight data showed her private jet made a short trip from Budapest

Kylie Jenner has faced online criticism after flight tracking data appeared to show her private jet making a brief stop in Budapest before quickly departing. The information, shared on Reddit, reignited public debate around celebrity air travel and its environmental impact.

A user on the subreddit r/KUWTKSnark posted flight data showing Jenner’s Bombardier BD-700 aircraft, registered as N810KJ, departing from Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport after what they described as a short visit. “Well short visit it was,” the post read.

Some users speculated that Jenner may have travelled to visit her boyfriend, actor Timothée Chalamet, who is reportedly filming the final instalment of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy in Hungary.

Private flights have long drawn scrutiny due to their high carbon output. Industry data shows that private jets emit significantly more carbon per passenger than commercial flights, with short trips producing the greatest emissions due to fuel use during takeoff and landing.

“The aviation habits of wealthy individuals far exceed typical household carbon reduction efforts,” one Redditor commented, while another wrote, “So she spent nearly 30k to go there for a quickie? Nevermind f****** up the climate. How is this legal?”

An airline pilot also joined the discussion, suggesting the flight could have been repositioning rather than a personal trip, but most users remained critical of what they saw as environmental insensitivity.

This incident adds to ongoing scrutiny surrounding celebrity private jet use, particularly as global discussions about climate change and personal responsibility continue. Jenner has previously faced similar online backlash for her short-distance flights.
