Omar, Shibli de-seating challenged in SC
The controversy surrounding the de-seating of PTI leaders Omar Ayub Khan and Shibli Faraz took a new turn as Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, on Saturday, challenged the Peshawar High Court's decision in the Supreme Court.
The PHC had earlier suspended the ECP's notification de-seating both lawmakers after they were convicted. However, the court later lifted the stay order and adjourned the proceedings.
Barrister Gohar argued that the high court's direction was unjustified and should be set aside, maintaining that both leaders had exercised their legal right to appeal before the competent forums.
