Pokémon TCG Pocket has seen one of its steepest declines since launch, with new figures showing a significant drop in both revenue and global downloads.
According to data shared on the r/PTCGP subreddit, downloads for the mobile trading card game fell by 46.4% in September, marking the fifth decline in six months.
The downturn has also been reflected in revenue, which fell by 56.6% to approximately $23 million.
The September losses follow several earlier declines throughout 2025, including a 26.7% drop to $63 million in April, 33.8% to $53 million in June, and 28.3% to $38 million in July. The only recent improvement came in August, when earnings temporarily rose by 39.5% to around $53 million before the latest fall.
Developed by Creatures Inc. and DeNA and published by The Pokémon Company, Pokémon TCG Pocket was released globally in 2024 following a successful soft launch in New Zealand.
The game adapts the mechanics of the traditional Pokémon Trading Card Game into a simplified mobile format, replacing the Prize Card system with a point-based victory condition.
At launch, Pokémon TCG Pocket was a major success, generating $2.7 million on its first day and surpassing $100 million within two weeks. Within ten weeks, earnings exceeded $400 million, briefly outpacing Pokémon Go in daily revenue.
Earlier updates, including expansion sets such as Space-Time Smackdown and the introduction of Shiny Pokémon, helped stabilise performance after a January decline.
However, the most recent figures suggest that player engagement has continued to fall despite new content releases.
The Pokémon Company has not yet commented on the ongoing revenue drop.
