RAWALPINDI:

Security forces killed seven terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Sherani district of Balochistan, a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

"During the conduct of operation, own forces effectively engaged the terrorists' location, and after an intense fire exchange, seven Indian sponsored terrorists were sent to hell," it said. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area, it added.

"Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian sponsored terrorism from the country, and reaffirm the nation's unwavering resolve to bring the perpetrators of terrorism to justice," it further said.

President Asif Ali Zardari commended the security forces for the successful operation. In a statement, he acknowledged the professionalism and bravery of security forces in eliminating the Indian-backed Fitna-al-Khawarij terrorists.

He described the soldiers as national heroes who thwarted the nefarious designs of anti-state elements. "Pakistan's people and the armed forces stood shoulder-to-shoulder for completely eliminating terrorism from the country," the president said, reaffirming the state's resolve to continue all possible measures for the safety of the people and establish peace across the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a separate statement, lauded the security forces for killing seven Indian-backed terrorists. The prime minister said that Indian-backed terrorists who harmed the lives and property of innocent and unarmed civilians had been decisively defeated.

"We will uproot the monster of terrorism," the prime minister said, adding that the government and the security forces were determined to completely eliminate terrorism from the country.
