A case has been registered regarding the assault of a young man from the marginalised Hindu Bagri community, who was tied up and physically assaulted for 'daring to eat at a dhaba'. Seven individuals have been named in the case, however, no suspect has been arrested.
Dolat Bagri, had gone to a roadside eatery to have lunch. This simple act angered the hotel owner and other individuals present. They harassed the youth for daring to come to eat there. While Dolat begged for mercy, the men tied his hands and feet with rope, physically assaulted him and even reportedly snatched Rs60,000 from his pockets.
A video of the assault made rounds on social media, prompting demands to file a case regarding the incident.
A petition was then submitted in the District and Sessions Court, Jamshoro against SSP and SHO Jamshoro. However, before the hearing regarding the petition, Jamshoro police filed a case on Dolat's complaint against Fayyaz Ali, Arshad Ali, Moeen Ali, Shafi Muhammad, Niaz, Dar Muhammad, Ikram, and the hotel owner, for assaulting the youth and robbing him.
