The Golden Globes has revealed the 25 podcasts eligible for its first-ever Best Podcast award, with the winner to be announced at the Nikki Glaser-hosted ceremony on January, 11 2026.
The new category, announced earlier this year, expands the Globes’ recognition into digital media and acknowledges the increasing influence of podcasts as a form of global storytelling. Six nominees will be chosen from the 25 contenders before the awards ceremony.

Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes organisation, previously explained the decision, “As the world of entertainment continues to evolve, we are excited to recognise new forms of storytelling. Podcasts have emerged as a profound medium for sharing narratives and building communities across global borders and generations. By celebrating achievements in both audio and visual podcasts, we aim to honour our heritage categories while making room for new voices and formats to be heard.”
The category underlines the Globes’ intention to remain relevant in a changing media landscape, where podcasts have become a dominant cultural force.
