Nicki Minaj has issued a rare public apology to Cardi B’s daughter, Kulture, after their long-standing rivalry reignited this week and turned personal.
The two rappers exchanged sharp words online, dragging each other’s children into the dispute, which drew criticism from fans.
In a post shared on X on Thursday, Minaj apologised directly to Kulture for comments she had made, including calling the child a “roach” and “monkey.
” She wrote, “Dear Kulture, truth is: I did all of this for a bigger purpose and one day you’ll understand… you’re a cute child & lots of kids have cute little funny looking gums before they grow into all of their features.”
Minaj continued, framing her apology in terms of responsibility as both a parent and a public figure. “I apologise. As a child of God & QUEEN of my community who look to me for integrity… you’re an innocent child & don’t deserve any of this.”
She went on to state, “One day your mother, aunt & many more will be brought to their knees for what they’ve said AND TRIED to do to my young prophet/beautiful boy. Take care my darling. This isn’t who I am.”
Cardi B responded by defending her daughter, warning Minaj not to mention her children again, saying: “Let this be the LAST TIME you mention my kids.” Cardi also retaliated with comments about Minaj’s son.
The apology marks a new chapter in one of hip-hop’s longest-running feuds, which has simmered since 2017. Whether it will ease tensions between the two artists remains to be seen.
