Delay in Gwadar shipyard project discussed

The Senate Standing Committee on Defence Production met on Thursday with Senator Abdul Qadir in the Chair to deliberate on the resolution of outstanding issues related to the Gwadar Shipyard Development Project, including land acquisition, public grievances and environmental concerns.

The committee was briefed by the Secretary, Ministry of Defence Production and Chief Secretary Balochistan on the hurdles currently being faced in the execution of the Gwadar Shipyard Project.

The committee was apprised of the concerns of the local community, as well as possible options and feasibility for the project's implementation.
