RAWALPINDI:

Police authorities suspended four policemen from service for showing negligence in the investigation of an alleged child abuse and blackmail case.

Rawalpindi City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani took decisive action in response to serious lapses in the registration and investigation of alleged child abuse and blackmail cases within the jurisdiction of Gujar Khan Police Station.

Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Nazir Gheba, Outpost In-Charge at Qazian, Sub-Inspector Zahid Mehmood, Assistant Sub-Inspector Majid Ilyas, and Head Constable (Moharrar) were suspended from service, and formal departmental inquiries have also been initiated to determine accountability.

According to sources, the action was prompted by grave complaints concerning delays in lodging FIRs and inadequate investigative procedures relating to alleged incidents of sexual abuse and blackmail involving minors in Chakrali Badhal.
