Vin Diesel has shared an emotional update on Fast & Furious 11, promising that the next film in the long-running franchise will “honour” its legacy while taking audiences “somewhere you’ve never been before.”

The actor posted a photo with co-star Michelle Rodriguez on Instagram, reflecting on their time together in the series. Rodriguez has played Letty Ortiz since the first instalment in 2001. Diesel wrote, “Just wrapped an incredible day filming with my ride-or-die about the future of Fast.”

He continued, “After all these years, all these miles, the conversation we had today reminded me why this family means everything… through every corporate change, every boardroom shuffle, every new regime, one thing has never wavered… the connection between the Fast family and fans around the world!”

Diesel emphasised Rodriguez’s importance to the series, saying, “After listening to her, something became crystal clear… she will always be Letty.” He added that Fast & Furious 11 will honour the story while creating new experiences for fans.

“For everyone who’s been waiting, for every fan who believes that family is everything, what we’re building next is going to honour all that you love about Fast while taking you somewhere you’ve never been before.”

Earlier this year, Diesel outlined his conditions for the finale at Fuel Fest. “First… bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner,” he said.

Brian, played by Paul Walker, last appeared in Furious 7. While Walker died in 2013, the character has been referenced since, and fans expect some form of tribute in the upcoming film.

Fast & Furious 11 is scheduled for release in April 2027.
