Pokimane and LilyPichu have voiced uncertainty about their attendance at TwitchCon 2025, following concerns raised after Valkyrae and QTCinderella withdrew from the event.

TwitchCon, held annually, brings together streamers, staff, and fans to celebrate the platform. The San Diego convention has grown in scale, offering meet and greets as well as informal opportunities for attendees to encounter content creators.

However, safety issues have increasingly become a concern for streamers, some of whom have reported uncomfortable or threatening encounters at past events.

Several high-profile streamers have already announced they will not be attending this year. HasanAbi confirmed his decision earlier, citing safety concerns for others.

QTCinderella and Valkyrae also announced cancellations, explaining that they were “afraid” of potentially unsafe encounters with fans.

On the Sweet n’ Sour podcast, LilyPichu admitted she felt conflicted: “I have an artist alley booth, I have to go. I might cancel my meeting. I think a lot of people are… I’m not in the mood to meet people lately.”

Pokimane added that Valkyrae’s concerns resonated with her, saying, “When Rae told me that, that’s what concerned me enough to be like, ‘Should we be concerned?’”

Pokimane also referred to the 2016 death of singer and YouTuber Christina Grimmie during a fan meet and greet, stressing that even a single incident could have devastating consequences.

QTCinderella previously pointed to the killing of Japanese streamer Airi Sato in March 2025 as another factor behind her decision not to attend.

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy responded on September 24, stating that Amazon-owned Twitch would take event security “extremely seriously” amid growing concerns from the streaming community.
