Silent Hill f has surpassed one million copies sold worldwide in less than a week, making it one of the fastest-selling titles in the series. Konami confirmed the milestone on September 26, noting that the new instalment has outpaced the performance of the Silent Hill 2 remake across all major regions.

Released on September 25, Silent Hill f shifts the series away from its traditional American settings to 1960s Japan.

The story follows Hinako Shimizu as she becomes entangled in the horrors of the fog-covered town of Ebisugaoka. The focus on Japanese folklore and a fresh narrative approach have contributed to the game’s strong reception.

In a statement, Konami compared the new release with its predecessor, saying: “The remake of Silent Hill 2, released last year, surpassed one million units shipped worldwide within a week of its release, but Silent Hill f is growing in shipments at an even faster pace in each region, including Japan.”

NeoBards Studio Creative Director Al Yang also marked the achievement on social media, writing: “Silent Hill f has reached 1 million units as of 9/26! Thank you so much to everyone for your support!”

The Silent Hill 2 remake had set a strong benchmark after its October 2024 launch, reaching its first million sales in under a week. However, Silent Hill f has exceeded even that pace, highlighting the demand for a brand-new story within the franchise.

The game has also earned positive critical reception, currently holding an 86 Metascore on Metacritic, with praise for its atmosphere, visuals, and storytelling.

Its success signals a renewed interest in the survival horror series, with further projects such as Silent Hill Townfall still in development.
