Young Thug surprised fans in Atlanta by hosting a free pop-up concert outside the Fulton County Courthouse on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

The unannounced performance drew hundreds after the rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, tweeted for fans to meet him at 4 p.m.

Local outlets reported that streets around the courthouse were closed off as crews set up light bars, smoke machines, and speakers. The performance was also livestreamed on Twitch, directing viewers to Young Thug’s latest music release. Courthouse security officials confirmed they were aware of the event and described it as an anti-violence, anti-gun, and anti-gang rally.

The rapper took the courthouse stairs just after 5 p.m., performing for about 15 minutes while also greeting fans and signing autographs. Addressing the crowd, he encouraged them to prioritize peace, saying, “Life is precious, so I just want everybody to be better. Even if it’s worth something, it’s not worth losing people. It’s not worth living that type of life.”

Young Thug’s courthouse performance comes amid ongoing attention on his 2022 indictment under Georgia’s RICO Act. Prosecutors alleged he co-founded a street gang linked to violent crimes over a decade. In a plea deal, he pled no contest to conspiracy and gang-related charges, as well as gun and drug offenses. He was sentenced to 40 years, with five years in prison commuted to time served, followed by 15 years of probation.

As part of his probation, Young Thug is banned from living in Atlanta until at least 2027 but may attend limited events, such as Sunday’s rally.
