R&B singer Ne-Yo confronted a fan who stormed the stage during his concert in Kobe, Japan, on Saturday, September 27. The 45-year-old artist was performing his 2007 hit “Because of You” at the Glion Arena Kobe when the incident occurred.

Video footage shared on social media, shows the singer wearing a black cowboy hat, a sequin-accented blazer, and leather pants while singing. Suddenly, a fan wearing a white T-shirt climbs the stairs to the stage, dances next to Ne-Yo, and spreads his arms wide. Without breaking his performance, Ne-Yo lowers his microphone and pushes the fan off the stage before continuing the song.

In response to the incident, Ne-Yo wrote on Instagram, “This is what you DON’T do. I’m a gentleman but I WILL slap the s— out of a person disrespecting my stage.” He added, “And then keep the party going. Don’t try me. All love, til it’s not.” The artist also shared a different video angle showing the fan dancing alone near the stage while other concertgoers remained behind barriers. Ne-Yo commented, “Had he ran up with love I woulda let him rock for a minute…idiot. Don’t be this guy.”

Security quickly intervened and removed the fan from the stage, while Ne-Yo continued his performance without interruption. A representative for Ne-Yo declined to comment on the incident.

Earlier this month, Ne-Yo spoke about his personal life during Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 livestream, revealing that he is in a polyamorous relationship with four women following his 2022 divorce from Crystal Renay. He described his love life as “phenomenal” and emphasized prioritizing what is best for himself and his family.

The stage-crashing moment sparked reactions on social media, with some fans criticizing the fan’s behavior and praising Ne-Yo for handling the situation firmly yet professionally. One user commented on the unexpected aggression from R&B artists, while others joked about how quickly Ne-Yo removed the fan, likening it to swiping a credit card.
