Cardi B’s ‘Am I The Drama?’ debuts at number one on Billboard 200

Cardi B’s second album ‘Am I The Drama?’ debuts atop Billboard 200 with 200,000 units, breaking major records.

Cardi B has officially secured her second consecutive number-one album with the release of Am I The Drama?, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart.

The sophomore project earned 200,000 total units in its first week, surpassing early projections of 125,000 to 150,000.

Billboard confirmed that 110,000 of the units came from streaming, with nearly 146 million on-demand streams across the album’s 23 tracks. The remaining 90,000 were attributed to strong physical sales, boosted by multiple vinyl and CD variants that Cardi heavily promoted ahead of the release.

With this milestone, Cardi B becomes the first female rapper in history to have her first two albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200. The album also marks the biggest first-week sales of 2025 for any female rapper. If she maintains the top spot for a second week, Cardi would be the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill to achieve back-to-back weeks at number one.

The achievement comes during a high-profile moment in Cardi B’s career. Over the weekend, she stepped in as a replacement headliner at the Global Citizen Festival, where she revealed her baby bump while performing. The rapper is expecting her first child with NFL player Stefon Diggs.

Looking ahead, Cardi B is preparing to launch her first headlining arena tour in February 2026. With Am I The Drama? off to a historic start, she has reinforced her status as one of the most dominant figures in hip-hop today.
