Tom Holland has provided an update on his health after sustaining a concussion while filming the upcoming Marvel film Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow.
The actor suffered a head injury on September 19 during production of the fourth instalment in his Spider-Man series.
A week later, he addressed the incident in an Instagram post, where he also shared highlights from a fundraiser hosted by his charity, The Brothers Trust.
“I’m sorry I had to leave early but I’m feeling better and on the mend,” Holland wrote on September 27. He went on to thank his father, Dominic Holland, who stepped in to continue the event. “A huge thanks to my Dad for taking over after I left. The show got considerably funnier.”
Holland’s parents attended the London fundraiser, his brothers Sam, Harry and Paddy Holland, as well as his fiancé Zendaya and co-star Jacob Batalon.
Although his injury briefly interrupted filming, Holland has expressed enthusiasm about returning to the role of Peter Parker.
Speaking in July, he told Flip Your Wig that the production is leaning into “old-school filmmaking” with on-location shoots in Glasgow, contrasting the restrictions faced during the previous film, which was largely filmed on sound stages due to Covid-19.
Behind-the-scenes clips released on the film’s official Instagram also showed Holland reflecting on the experience. “Putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow,” he said, noting that fans were present on set from the very first day.
