A new PlayStation 5 Pro model is reportedly set to launch in Europe at the end of September 2025, according to a leak from industry insider billbil-kun. The revision, identified as CFI-7121, is expected to release on September 30 and retail for €799.99.

The report, posted on September 25, states that while the console will feature some improvements over the existing PS5 Pro, these updates are likely to be modest.

Billbil-kun suggested that the enhancements may be limited to greater energy efficiency. The revision is not expected to alter the system’s 2TB SSD storage capacity.

“Sony is set to launch a new version of the PS5 Pro on the European market, identified by the reference CFI-7121. Availability on the American continent remains uncertain at this time,” the insider wrote.

The news follows the launch of a revised base PlayStation 5 model in Europe earlier this year, which reduced storage capacity to 825GB while increasing the price to €499.99.

Unlike that revision, the new Pro model does not appear to be reducing storage or raising its price beyond the existing €799.99 retail point.

Sony has not commented on the reported hardware update. Some analysts have speculated that recent console revisions may be tied to European Union regulations on energy efficiency or to tariff-related manufacturing costs.

Others believe the changes could reflect Sony’s longer-term focus on efficiency, as suggested in reports surrounding the development of the PlayStation 6.

If accurate, the launch would make this the latest in a series of mid-cycle hardware updates aimed at keeping Sony’s flagship console competitive in global markets.

At present, it is unclear whether the PS5 Pro CFI-7121 will be released outside of Europe.
