Wizards of the Coast has announced the full 2026 lineup of Magic: The Gathering sets at MagicCon: Atlanta, confirming seven releases across the year. The schedule marks a temporary increase from the usual six annual sets.

The year begins on January 23 with Lorwyn Eclipsed, returning players to the plane of Lorwyn alongside Strixhaven students.

Preorders are already open, with the set launching across Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Bundles, and Prerelease Packs.

The second set of 2026 will be revealed at New York Comic Con on October 10 2025 as part of the Universes Beyond series. This expansion will be available both in tabletop form and on MTG Arena.

In April, Secrets of Strixhaven continues the story, exploring off-campus life at Strixhaven University. Alongside the set, Seanan McGuire’s novel Strixhaven: Omens of Chaos will follow a new group of students in the Multiverse.

June sees the launch of Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, featuring characters and teams from across the Marvel Universe.

This is followed in August by Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit, returning to Middle-earth to follow Bilbo Baggins and his companions on their journey to the Lonely Mountain.

October introduces Reality Fracture, a set teasing the emergence of a major new villain in the ongoing Magic storyline.

The year concludes in November with Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek, a Universes Beyond collaboration spanning characters, ships, and stories from the Star Trek franchise.

Wizards confirmed that this expanded seven-set schedule is specific to 2026, with six annual sets planned from 2027 onwards.

Fans can expect further details in upcoming announcements on DailyMTG and at major events throughout the year.
