Husband, in-laws held for killing woman

ATTOCK:

Police claimed on Friday to have arrested a man and his parents for allegedly murdering his wife over the couple's inability to have children and abandoning her body inside their locked home before fleeing.

According to the FIR lodged at City Police Station, Attock, by Wali Muhammad, son of Abdul Malik and a resident of Inayat Kallay, Mamond, Bajaur Agency, his niece, H Bibi, married Ihsanullah, son of Zahir Khan, five years ago. The couple later moved to Attock city.

The marriage remained childless, which frequently led to quarrels. Ihsanullah often subjected his wife to physical abuse. Some time ago, the victim had returned to her family but was taken back to Attock by her husband a few months before the incident.

On the day of the murder, Wali Muhammad was at work when his son informed him by phone that Ihsanullah's uncle had reported that Ihsanullah had killed his wife and that the family should come to Attock to collect her body.

When Wali Muhammad reached Attock, he found the house locked and immediately alerted the police via helpline 15. Upon opening the house, police discovered the woman's body, which bore signs of severe torture.

A case was registered, and although the suspects had initially gone into hiding, police, using modern technology and resources, apprehended Zahir Khan, his wife, their son Ihsanullah, and Asghar Khan, all residents of Attock.
