ANP chief seeks Senate debate on Tirah tragedy

Awami National Party (ANP) central president Senator Aimal Wali Khan has submitted an adjournment motion in the Senate over the tragic incident that occurred in Tirah, Khyber district, on September 21.

In the motion, Senator Aimal Wali stated that dozens of local residents lost their lives and many others were injured in the incident. He stressed that such tragedies not only cause irreparable loss of human lives but also fuel deep resentment and anxiety among the people.

He urged the upper house to hold an immediate debate on the matter so that the facts could be brought before the public and those responsible identified.

Highlighting the plight of residents of the former tribal districts, Aimal Wali pointed out that they have long suffered due to terrorism and military operations. He warned that further incidents of this nature would only add to their hardships and erode their trust in the state.
